The Collaborative Research Center „Self-optimizing concepts and structures in mechanical engineering” sets up the Workshop "Self-X in Engineering" as a part of the KI 2009, which takes place September 15th - 18th in Paderborn.

The workshop "Self-X in Engineering" is directed to scientists and practitioner, who uses the methods of artificial intelligence to obtain self-x-properties in engineering applications. Thereby self-x-properties means the totality of the properties such as self-healing, self-coordination, self-organization, self-optimization or many more.

A prime example of engineering systems with such capabilities are the self-optimizing mechatronic systems. Furthermore the workshop addresses the topics automobile, transportation, logistics, Supply Chain Management and production.
